The University of Nottingham

In 2004, the University of Nottingham established a campus in Ningbo, China. This was the first legally approved Sino-foreign joint venture in higher education. Launched in conjunction with the Wanli Education Group, the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC) is an integral part of The University of Nottingham, offering UK degrees taught entirely in English. Developed on a campus occupying 144 acres, the establishment of UNNC with the full support of the Chinese Government marked an historic moment in the opening up of Chinese Higher Education and its development of the knowledge-based economy. Starting with 260 students, UNNC now has a total student population of 5385 including 450 post-graduate students.
